Free Electronics Recycling in Springfield, MO
Old CRT tube TVs and monitors, dead laptops, phones, a console that stopped working three years ago — I’ll take it off your hands for free, and I’ll come and collect it.
Yes, including the big glass ones. Most recyclers around here turn CRT televisions and monitors away or charge you to take them. I want them.
No catch, and no charge either way. Working parts get pulled and reused in repairs for other people around Springfield, which is cheaper for them and keeps usable hardware out of a landfill. That’s the whole arrangement.
Nothing leaves with your files on it
This is the part people worry about, and they are right to. Every hard drive and SSD is either securely wiped or physically destroyed before it goes anywhere — your choice, and you’re welcome to watch me do it.
If you would rather keep the drive, pull it out first or ask me to remove it and hand it back. That is completely fine and it costs you nothing.
How it works
- 01
Text a photo
Send a picture of the pile. I will tell you straight away what I can take and what I cannot.
- 02
I come to you
Free collection across the Springfield area — the same visit radius as my repair work.
- 03
Drives handled first
Every storage device is wiped or physically destroyed. You choose which, and you can watch.
- 04
It gets reused
Working parts go into repairs for other people. The rest goes to a proper recycler, not a landfill.
What I’ll take
- CRT tube TVs & monitors
- The heavy glass ones most places turn away — I actively want these. Tell me the screen size so I know what I am lifting.
- Computers & laptops
- Any age, any condition. Dead, cracked, water-damaged — all still useful to me.
- Phones & tablets
- Including cracked screens and units that will not power on.
- Game consoles
- Working or not, plus controllers and accessories.
- Networking gear
- Routers, modems, switches, mesh units, access points.
- Components & drives
- RAM, GPUs, power supplies, hard drives, SSDs, motherboards.
- Cables & peripherals
- Keyboards, mice, chargers, adapters, the drawer full of unknown cables.
- Printers & small electronics
- Desktop-sized items I can carry to the van.
What I can’t take
- Large appliances
- Fridges, washers, ovens, air conditioners — anything with a refrigerant or a two-person lift.
- Smoke & CO detectors
- Many contain a small radioactive source and have their own return programme.
- Damaged or swollen batteries
- Puffed, leaking or burnt lithium cells are a fire risk in a vehicle.
- Anything leaking or corroded
- If it is wet, weeping or rusted through, it needs a hazardous-waste facility.
Not sure which pile something falls in? Text a photo and I’ll tell you before you carry anything.
- — Once you hand something over it becomes mine to repair, harvest for parts or recycle. Please don’t give me anything you might want back.
- — Check for anything you care about first — photos, documents, SIM cards, memory cards.
- — Collection is free within my normal service area. For anything further out, or a whole office clear-out, text me and we’ll sort something out.
- — I’m not able to give valuations, trade-ins or cash for equipment. This is a free disposal service, not a buyer.
